He was 44-years-of-age, according to the Bartlesville, OK Examiner-Enterprise.

Kevin Potter, president and general manager of KWON-KYFM-KRIG-KPGM, said the family-owned station is struggling to come to grips with the loss.

“It’s going to be tough. Adam was a legend in his own time. I’m telling you, he loved being the voice of football and basketball for Nowata and Dewey and Oklahoma Wesleyan,” Potter said.

Hooper started working at the Bartlesville-based radio station in 2005, and he had a big love for sports, especially high school and small college athletics.

Examiner-Enterprise Sports Editor Mike Tupa recalled how Hooper’s friendliness and energy touched lives of everyone with whom he came in contact.
