Baton Rouge Radio: Rock WDGL Shuffles Line-Up

WDGL Eagle 98.1 FM, The Rock Station, begins its new weekday lineup on Monday, January 9th with a commitment to playing MORE ROCK MUSIC than ever before.

Condon Uncensored with Richard Condon and Anna Betts will move to morning drive and Condon will be reunited with radio veteran Scott Robb. Robb and Condon were one of the first morning shows on Eagle 98.1 over 20 years ago. The show will be music intensive program that includes sports updates from 104.5 ESPN’s Jordy Culotta along with traffic reports from Baton Rouge and Lafayette. The show will air from 5:30 am -10:00 am weekday mornings.

Mike Benson will take over the midday shift from 11am-2pm. Mike Benson has made Baton Rouge his home for over 12 years. Relocating to Louisiana just before Katrina, he has been a part of Louisiana culture and Guaranty Media since 2005. Mike’s radio success includes being a Morning Host in Detroit where he worked with Howard Stern, Grand Rapids, Lansing, The Jersey Shore, Kansas City and Greenville, South Carolina. Mike is a guitar player who lives the lifestyle, loves the music and knows Classic Rock!

Scotty Drake, the elder statesman of rock, will shift back to afternoon drive for a show entitled “The Drive with the Drake”. This high energy rock show will again feature the greatest rock n roll of all time along with Drake’s sidekick, Dan Day and an hourly sports commentary from 104.5 ESPN’s Matt Moscona. “The Drive with the Drake” can be heard from 2p-7pm weekdays.

Dan Day will continue to host his evening show “Night with Day” from 7pm-Midnight and British import Tony Lightfoot will begin Baton Rouge’s only local overnight show “The Overnight Invasion” from Midnight to 5:30 a.m.
