Savannah-Hilton Head Radio: BOB 106.9 Helps Raise $115K

Karen 'Red' Daiss
Alpha Media/Savannah-Hilton has announced that WUBB Bob 106.9 FM Morning Showgram’s Karen “Red” Daiss, lit up the dance floor at the 9th Annual Dancing with the Savannah Stars event to support CASA. $115,000 was raised at this year’s event and will go towards helping abused and neglected children. Red, with the help of her dancing partner Joseph Marion, took home the award for “Best Female Dancer.”

Alpha Media VP/Market Manager, Gigi South commented on the announcement, “We are so proud of Red for her win, but more importantly, for raising money and awareness for CASA.”

“It’s an honor to raise money for such a great organization like CASA. I would like to thank everyone from the Bob 106.9 staff along with Gigi South and Rob Walker for their support in this amazing endeavor,” remarked Red.

CASA is a national nonprofit organization which trains and supports volunteers to speak out and act as advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children. They are trained to work within the child welfare and family court systems and are appointed by judges to individual cases. With the help of a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in the foster care system, and more likely to find a safe and permanent home.
