As part of the programming leadership team who has been with CBS RADIO and KROQ for almost 25 years, Weatherly will also advise the Company’s rock, alternative and adult hits stations across the country as format captain, and contributes to the brand strategy of the Company both on-air and digitally.

“Kevin’s influence and impact on the content development of our company, and particularly our LA music stations, over the last twenty five years is unmatched,” said Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President, Programming. “We couldn’t be happier that he’ll continue on his journey with CBS RADIO as a key contributor to the ongoing evolution and growth of our programming platforms.”

“Kevin has proven time and time again that he is one of the leading authorities in music radio, not only in the Los Angeles market, but in the industry,” added Dan Kearney, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Los Angeles. “His strength and ability to build, cultivate, and evolve stations, like KROQ, KAMP and KCBS, is evidenced through the numerous awards and distinctions he has been honored with through the years.  I am thrilled he will be with us for years to come.”

“I’m grateful to CBS RADIO for their support throughout the years and for letting me continue to do what I love doing,” said Weatherly.  “I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather be – there is no better job.  I am very fortunate to be able to work alongside some of the best talent in the industry.”

He is most recognized for his overwhelming achievements at No. 1 alternative rock station KROQ featuring the distinguishable morning duo of Kevin and Bean. In addition, he is also behind the successes and programming of Adult Hits station Jack FM and Top 40 station 97.1 AMP Radio. During his tenure in the market, Weatherly has signed a number of notable radio personalities including Carson Daly and Booker, and assembled numerous events and concerts for listeners.

Solidifying his love for radio early on, Weatherly began his career at the age of 12 at KPIN in Casa Grande, Ariz. He worked as a disc jockey and Music Director at KZZP in Phoenix from 1983-87, later moving on to the Music Director role at KMEL in San Francisco, Calif. in 1987. After that, Weatherly became Music Director at KIIS in Los Angeles in 1988, before heading to San Diego in 1989 to serve as Assistant Program Director, and later Program Director of Q106. In 1992, he arrived at KROQ and has been with the station ever since, expanding his role within the Los Angeles market and at the corporate level.
