Danbury CT Radio: Rides The Bull On 107.3 FM

After a weekend of “Christmas in July” stunting, Berkshire Broadcasting has “gone country” at noon today on W297AN 107.3FM with the orginating station WDAQ 98.3 FM-HD3.

107.3 FM was vacated last Thursday by relocating Classic Hits to W233CF 94.5 FM.

The new station, 107-3 The Bull is programming the biggest recent country hits and positioning as “Connecticut’s NEW Country.”

Dan Hopkins, afternoon personality at 98Q (WDAQ) and program director of “Danbury’s New Rock Alternative” W279CI 103.7 FM, adds programming duties for “1073 THE BULL.”

“There are country stations receivable in our market,” says Hopkins. “But they largely target New York State or upstate Connecticut and also include much older country titles in their playlists. ‘1073 The Bull’ will focus exclusively on the younger end of the country listening audience.”

“1073 The Bull” is introducing the station with a “Commercial Free Summer.” Among the featured artists are Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Eric Church and Sam Hunt.

The addition of “1073 The Bull” further enhances the ability of Berkshire Broadcasting to superserve both listeners and advertisers. “With five different formats across our station platform, Berkshire Broadcasting can now satisfy listener preferences and match advertiser demographic targets better than ever,” says President/CEO Irv Goldstein.
