FNC's Megyn Kelly To Interview Donald Trump

The interview that Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked Donald Trump to do when she met with him earlier this month is now set to take place, with the cable network announcing Monday that the Republican presidential frontrunner will sit down with Kelly for an interview that will air on May 17th.

Kelly said in a statement, "Mr. Trump and I sat down together for a meeting earlier this month at my request. He was gracious with his time and I asked him to consider an interview. I am happy to announce he has agreed, and I look forward to a fascinating exchange -- our first sit-down interview together in nearly a year."

Kelly had been the target of Trump's vitriol since she asked him a tough question at the first Republican presidential debate about the insults he's made about women, and he refused to take part in Fox-hosted debate in late January because the network wouldn't remove Kelly as one of the moderators.

After word of her meeting with Trump earlier this month leaked when she was spotted walking into Trump Tower, Kelly said she'd requested it, calling it "a chance to clear the air."
