San Antonio-Austin Radio: iHM Brings Back Travis Moon

Travis Moon
iHeartMedia has announced it is bringing back Travis Moon as Director of Country Operations for the company’s four Country stations in Austin and San Antonio.

Moon will oversee daily programming at KVET 981.FM and 100.7 KASE 100.7  and “KJ 97” 97.3 KAJA in Austin and Classic Country “92.5/93.3 The Bull” KRPT in San Antonio.

Most recently, he served as the Sr. Liaison for Radio Development at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  "I was honored that they asked me to join their talented radio team. I contributed to their on-air product and helped them serve radio station partners across the country. Everybody understands that it's our listeners, country fans, who keep that place going through thick and thin. There really is no other place like St. Jude and I will always be involved " Moon stated.

The return of Moon in San Antonio follows the depature of Lance Tidwell last month and in Austin he'll replace J T Bosch, who departed late last week.

Tony Coles, EVP of Programming, Central Division, iHeartMedia said, "Our goal is to leverage these powerful and legendary brands to better serve our listeners, our clients and the community. Travis Moon has the vision, the experience and the leadership skills necessary to maximize the potential of these iHeartCountry stations, while maintaining the strengths of their unique identities."

Moon commented, "I want to thank iHeartMedia, because I'm so pumped at the huge opportunity ahead. I'm very excited to return to Texas and I have an awesome challenge in programming some of the most storied Country stations in America! I can't wait to work with the amazing teams at KASE and KVET in Austin and, once again, with my friends at KAJA in San Antonio. Country Radio will be having fun and making lots of noise from the Lonestar State!"

Moon previously programmed KAJA/KRPT from '09 until '14.  His resume also lists WUBE Cincinnati and  11 years KEEY in  Minneapolis as on-air and eventually becoming  APD/MD.
