R.I.P.: Wichita Radio Sales Vet Cathy Kudrna Murdered

A suburban Chicago man is believed to have shot his wife to death and then turned the gun on himself Friday, authorities said Saturday.

Daniel Kudrna, 55, and Catherine Kudrna, 54, were found dead Friday afternoon in their home in the 300 block of Norton Lane in the west suburb of Bloomington, according to a statement emailed from the DuPage County coroner, Dr. Richard Jorgensen. The two died in an apparent murder-suicide, according to police.

Police were called to the home about 5:05 p.m. Friday following a report of a woman yelling for help, “followed by the sound of gunfire,” Bloomingdale Police Chief Frank Giammarese said in an email.

Catherine Kudrna,  worked in radio sales in Wichita for 15 years as an account executive before moving to Chicago in October 2014.

A Linked-In profile for Cathy Kudrna shows she worked in Wichita from 1999 to 2014. She spent 10 years as a national sales manager and senior account executive, and worked at Connoisseur Media LLC in the same roles from January 2010 to October 2014.

According to the profile, Kudrna returned home to Chicago in October 2014 and started work as an account executive for Comcast Spotlight Chicago.
