Milwaukee Radio: Jane Matenaer New Morning CoHost On WTMJ

Milwaukee radio veteran Jane Matenaer, who has been heard in a variety of roles on N/T WTMJ 620 AM since joining the station in May, was named Tuesday as co-anchor of WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News" with Gene Mueller.

According to jsonline.com, the move, effective immediately.

She succeeds Bonnie Petrie, who was hired as Mueller's co-anchor in July but ended up leaving the station this fall after being diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological disorder affecting the larynx.

Matenaer recently had been filling in as the morning show's co-anchor, and had done news and traffic reports as well. "Wisconsin's Morning News" airs weekdays from 5 to 8:30 a.m.

Matenaer joined WTMJ after she was dropped as co-host of the morning show on WLDB 93.3 FM, where she had been since 2010. Before that, she spent nearly 25 years at WMYX 99.1 FM.
