Kristen Cantrell
Seven Mountain Media announced Tuesday it will be acquiring Max Media's four station cluster in Selinsgrove and Bloomsburg, Central PA.

The stations are HotAC WFYY 106.5 FM, Sports WVSL 92.3 FM ESPN and Country Simulcast WWBE 98.3 FM, WYGL 100.5 FM.

Principal Officer Kristin Cantrell said, “Pennsylvania is a big part of who we are. We have lived and worked in Pennsylvania for many years. As radio broadcasters, we take our responsibility to serve our communities very seriously. We strive every day to create compelling, entertaining and informative local programming.
Max Media President John Trinder said, “It’s always sad when you sell stations because you have to say good-‐bye to people and a community that you’ve grown to love, but we have to look to the future.”

Last fall Seven Mountains Media acquired stations near State College, PA from First Media LLC for $2.075 million. The stations involved in that purchase were AC WZWW 95.3 FM Bellefonte, HotAC simulcast WMRF 95.7 FM Lewistown / WLAK 103.5 FM Huntingdon, and News/Talk WIEZ 670 AM in Lewistown.

Cantrell also operates four stations in Frankfort, KY owned by her mother Judith Cantrell under the name Southern Belle LLC.  Her father Kerby Confer is President of Forever Broadcasting which owns 2 AMs and 4 FMs in Pennsylvania.

The Max Media sale is expected to close by the end of 2015, following FCC approval. After the transaction, Max will own and operate approximately thirty radio stations in Virginia, North Carolina, Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado, as well as five television stations in Kentucky and Puerto Rico.
