Charlotte Radio: 92.7 FM Becomes "The Block"

UPDATE 8/18 6AM:  After a weekend of stunting WQNC Monday at 5pm launched an Urban format branding as 92.7 The Block. First song was Lil Wayne’s “The Block Is Hot”.

Radio One's 92.7 FM is currently stunting with a "All Drake" format, following the ending of a simulcast with its Praise gospel format solely on 100.9 with the call letters WPZS.

The calls WQNC are again being used on 92.7 FM (licensed to Harrisburg NC) and speculation is the All-Drake format will lead to a new Urban Format (Classic Hip-Hop as Boom?).

If so, the new Urban format would be competing with Beasley's WPEG 97.9 FM "Power 98", which scored a 6.9 Share (6+ AQH Total Week) during the July survey period.
