Phil Rudd Arrested for Probation Violation

Phil Rudd
Rock legend and former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been released on bail a day after he was arrested in New Zealand for breaching the terms of his house arrest, his lawyer says.

"He's been arrested and bailed on one charge of breaching his home detention," Rudd's lawyer Craig Tuck told CNN. "It's been remanded without plea."

Rudd is due to appear in court on August 3 to enter a plea.

On July 9, the 61-year-old rocker was convicted and sentenced by a New Zealand court to eight months home detention for threatening to kill a former employee and the possession of drugs.

Rudd is not currently a member of AC/DC. His legal troubles led the band to kick him off their current world tour which will include shows in New Zealand in December, despite playing with the band on and off for four decades.
