Indy Radio: iHM To Put Rush Limbaugh On Sports WNDE

Rush Limbaugh
iHeartMedia has decided to put its Premiere Networks talk host Rush Limbuagh on one of its own stations: Sports Talk WNDE 1260 AM.  The outlet will soon have an FM simulcast on W248AW 97.5 T-FM.

It was announced last month that Limbaugh was being dropped by longtime affiliate WIBC 93.3 FM, which is owned by Emmis.

Rush will aid on WNDE starting July 6.  The remainder of WNDE's schedule will remain the same as now, with the local Query and Schultz afternoon show and Fox Sports Radio the rest of the day.

iHM Market President Rick Green said, "Rush continues to be national radio’s dominant talk personality. We’re excited about the opportunity to have Rush join the iHeartradio  team on 97.5FM and 1260AM.”

WIBC and Premiere in April declined to discuss details of the ending partnership, but WIBC told the Indianapolis Business Journal the decision had to do with the “long-term direction of the station.”

It also cited the expense of carrying the show, which is primarily popular among listeners older than 55.
