R.I.P.: Former Iowa Radio Broadcaster Robert Welch

Robert A. Welch, a longtime Dubuque resident, most recently of Lake of the Ozarks, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was 63-years-of-age, according to Lake News.

Born on April 23, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was involved in the radio industry for over 30 years, as on-air, sales, program director, and broadcaster.

He helped launch KLYV in Dubuque, and was associated with WJOD, KDTH, and many other stations during his career.

He also was a para-professional for the Dubuque School System after retiring from the radio industry, and most recently Robert has been entertaining people with his Civil War music program throughout the area.
