Powered  by the snowiest February in Boston history, the CBS Radio newser notched its strongest overall ratings since January 2009, when the market converted to electronic measurement.

Going back to the holiday month of December, WBZ-AM has trended 5.2-6.4-7.6  (6+ AQH).  It tied Greater Media's Classic Hits WROR 105.7 FM for first 12+ and ended up fourth 25-54 and second in 25-64.

In morning drive WBZ-AM hits double-digits with a  10.1 share among listeners 12+ and finished first in afternoon drive with a 7.6 share. The February survey covers January 29-February 25, during which Boston was continually subnjected to blizzards and other snow events.

A January 26 blizzard was followed by three weeks of high impact storms that crippled the city’s public transit system. That had people tuning into WBZ in record numbers. Year-over-year cume among persons 25-54 exploded from 220,000 to 324,000.
