Houston Radio: Dave Tepper Leaves KFNC, KGOW

Dave Tepper
Dave Tepper, program director for Gow Media’s KFNC 97.5 FM /ESPN and KGOW 1560 AM and co-host of KFNC’s midday talk show, is leaving to become operations manager for a station group in Omaha, Neb.

The 38-yer-old Tepper tells The Houston Chronicle he will oversee operations at NRG Media’s two sports talk stations, KOZN 1620 AM and KZOT 1180 AM, news talk KOIL 1290 AM and Spanish music station KMMQ 1020 AM.

KOZN produces the College World Series for the Westwood One network.

“I’ve had a great run with an incredible programming team in an incredible sports radio market,” Tepper said. “It’s tough to move on, but that time has come. I like coaching talent and creating an environment for people to be at their best, and I will focus on that.”

Tepper began his radio career in Los Angeles while working as a standup comic and also worked in Austin before he came to Houston as a producer at KBME 790 AM. He joined KFNC in 2007 with that station’s conversion to sports and became program director in 2008.
