Asheville Radio: CCM+E Launches 'The Brew'

CCM+E/Asheville has launched The Brew on Translator W249AR 97.7 FM / WKSF 99.9 HD2 FM, featuring a healthy dose of 1980s rock.

The station made its debut Tuesday afternoon. The Brew takes its name from its music mix and Asheville’s place as a craft beer capitol, OM Jeff Davis said.

It will be a “nontraditional” station, focusing on music which will range from 1970s to 2000s hits “and maybe even a little 60s,” Davis said. “We’ll play about every kind of music from Top 40 to Hot AC, classic rock, mainstream rock and a little bit of country,” he said. “It’s basically a nice replacement for an iPod. It will never live in any world too long.”

Artists will include U2, Katy Perry, Boston, Bon Jovi, Lady Antebellum, Michael Jackson and Madonna.

It will also be streamed through the iHeartRadio.com web site. The FM signal should be received throughout Buncombe County, and parts of Haywood, Henderson and Madison counties, Davis said. It is the seventh radio signal operated by Clear Channel here.
