AZ Radio: Tim And Willy To Sign-Off Friday

"The Tim and Willy Show" will end Friday, June 27, the radio team announced Monday, according to azcentral.com.

"We had a blast," Tim Hattrick said. "We got to do our show free of any complications of the home offices telling us who we were. That was our goal, and that part was great."

What wasn't so great? Hattrick says the Tim and partners Willy D. Loon and Andrea Hiland were not fond of the business side of affairs.

"There were too many hats to wear and not enough heads," Hattrick said.

Tim and Willy are among the Valley's best-loved radio teams. They had a successful 10-year run at KNIX 102.5 -FM sandwiched in between stints at KMLE 107.9 FM. They last parted ways with KMLE in 2012.

Since 2008, they have offered a podcast through timandwilly.com. Last year, they teamed with Skyview Networks, which airs their show on three stations in Arizona:  KRDE 94.1 FM  in Globe, KJJJ 102.3 FM in Lake Havasu and KDAP 96.5 FM in Douglas.

The decision to end the program was not made lightly, he says. All three were invested financially in the show.

He isn't sure what the future holds for the Tim and Willy brand.

Tim and Willy are also known for their philanthropy. The pair's "FUN-dation," which helps underprivileged children, has raised close to a $1 million. They have not decided the fate of the organization.
