Detroit Radio: Pistons Expected To Jump to Sports 105.1 FM

Sports WMGC 105.1 FM is expected to announce today it has acquired rights to Detroit Pistons games.

A news conference is scheduled for 3 p.m.

It would be the new sports station’s first foray into Detroit’s pro sports and break WXYT 97.1 FM The Ticket’s monopoly.

The Ticket also is the home of the Lions, Red Wings and Tigers, which frequently causes scheduling conflicts.

This past season, 79 regular-season Pistons games were broadcast on The Ticket and three were carried on WWJ 950 AM.
