CCM+E Ups Clay Hunnicutt, Names New Major Market SVPs

Clear Channel Media+Entertainment has announced longtime programmer Clay Hunnicutt is now EVP/GM of National Programming Platforms.

The move is effective immediately. He will be based in New York City and report to Pres./National Programming Platforms Tom Poleman.

Hunnicutt and Poleman will oversee all aspects of the National Programming Platforms team, which develops and manages CC's national programming -- all on-air and digital content across the company's radio stations and websites.

He'll also continue as the company-wide Brand Manager for Clear Channel's Country stations.

Hunnicutt most recently served as EVP/Programming for Clear Channel's largest markets.

"Clay has an unmatched connection with our local markets and knows how to link our national capabilities to our local assets," said Poleman.

"He has a great understanding of the day-to-day programming of our local radio stations and what it takes to drive ratings and revenue. His expertise will ensure our national platforms are of benefit to all of our radio stations nationwide, which gives us a huge competitive advantage."

Because of the Hunnicutt appointment, Clear Channel has realinged Executive Programming Leadership for its Major Markets:
  • Thea Mitchem, has been promoted to SVP/Programming for the New York, Philadelphia and Washington, dc/Baltimore markets.
  • Andrew Jeffries has been promoted to SVP/Programming for the LA, SF and San Diego.
  • West Major marke Brad Hardin, has been named EVP/Programming and adds Houston and Dallas to his responsibilities.
  • EVP/Programming  Gene Romano, has added Chicago to the markets he oversees.
