Family and friends are mourning the passing of KBFB 97.9 FM The Beat music director Preston Lowe in Dallas.

He was 46 and he died Monday.

Lowe had been with Radio One in Dallas since February 2012 and previously worked at WMBX in West Palm Beach, KWIE Riverside and CBS Radio in Austin.

In 1998, he was on the launch team for 104.3 The Beat in Austin, serving as program director until 2005.
