Albany Radio: Disney Signs-Off WDDY

Disney Media Network has silenced its radio station in Albany, NY on Sept. 29, four months after putting it on the block.

WDDY, 1460 AM was one of seven Radio Disney stations, all in mid-sized markets, that the Burbank, California-based company put up for sale in early June.

No price was listed, but experts estimate the station could fetch about $400K.  Disney paid the former Regent Communications $2 million for the station, the former WGNA AM, in 2002.

Radio Insight is reporting WDZY 1290 AM Richmond and WKSH 1640 AM Milwaukee also turned off their transmitters on Sunday as Disney continues to seek buyers for the stations. KWDZ 910 AM Salt Lake City went dark earlier in September. No word on the status of KRDY 1160 AM San Antonio.
