NYC Radio: Mister Cee “Let Everyone Down”

UPDATE THURSDAY 1:30PM:  Following his abrupt resignation from New York’s WQHT Hot 97 radio station Wednesday, DJ Mister Cee broke his silence Thursday morning on the station’s morning show. The candid interview, which marks Cee’s second time this year addressing solicitation allegations with Hot 97 morning show host and Program Director, Ebro Darden, found the influential DJ admitting that he has received “fellatio from transvestites”.

A popular hip hop DJ resigned Wednesday after audio of him allegedly soliciting sex from a cross-dressing prostitute was released online.

According to the NYPost, Mister Cee announced he’d be leaving his gig at WQHT Hot 97 FM on the air and later tweeted that he “let everyone down.”

Rumors and allegations had surrounded the DJ, whose real name is Calvin Lebrun, for more than a year. This week, popular male blogger Bimbo Winehouse posted audio he claims is Mister Cee soliciting sex from him. Cee pleaded guilty to loitering for the purpose of engaging in a prostitution offense in 2011.

“I went through a lot in the past two years and I’ve tried to rise above those situations, I have tried to move forward from these situations and unfortunately every time I try to move forward, it’s like I take one step forward and then two steps back, and I’m hurting the people who are closest to me, which is my Hot 97 fam,” he said on the air Wednesday.

The station also released a statement saying that his resignation “is in the best interest of both Hot 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on,” the statement read. “We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr. Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97."
