Cincy Radio: WCFN FM 100.3 Flips To ‘Old School’

FM 100.3 The Fan is no more.  At noon Tuesday the Radio One-owned station flipped from CBS Radio Sports to Old School Urban oldies.

The shot with sports lasted just seven month.

Tom Gamble, Richard Skinner, Will Chambers,  Chad Brendel, Rick Ucchino, Rick Broering, Jeremy Lance and former Reds pitcher Joe Price — plus Steve Harris — were told Tuesday morning after the Gamble-Chamber morning show ended at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Ironically, John Kiesewetter at cincinnati.com notes, the decision was made after “The Fan” finally received some much-needed promotion on billboards. The station had ranked last in local Arbitron ratings – although Tom Gamble’s morning show has beaten Clear Channel’s Fox Sports WSAI-130 AM in some male demographics, and afternoon host Richard Skinner tied Clear Channel’s ESPN WCKY-1530 AM in the 35-44 male demo in July.

The Tom Joyner Morning Show, which the station carried in its previous “Mojo” incarnation will return to the station from sister Urban Talk 1230 WDBZ.
