Feds: ‘Elvis’ Didn’t Send Ricin Letters, It Was ‘Wayne Newton’

James E. Dutschke
Authorities now believe that it wasn’t an Elvis impersonator who mailed a letter tainted with the poison ricin to President Obama — it was a Wayne Newton impersonator.

James Everett Dutschke, 41, was denied bond Monday on a charge of making and possessing a biological weapon.

But he is a true renaissance man, according to the New YorkDaily News. In addition to being a martial arts instructor in Tupelo, Miss., who dabbled in local politics, Dutschke also is an impersonator of “Mr. Las Vegas” himself, Wayne Newton, NBC News reported.

Authorities had previously charged Paul Kevin Curtis, 45, an Elvis impersonator, with sending the ricin letters to Obama and two other public officials this month. Charges against Curtis were later dropped.
